Colour Concept Architecture: Sameiet Badebakken
For this large scale project it was important to create a colour palette rooted in local tradition. All the colours used for Badebakken sameie are historical colours of architecture in Oslo. The large chain of houses was previously clad in prefabricated concrete elements from Germany, and the colour palette was thus not customized for Nordic light and weather. The facade now has a much more subtle expression, with fewer colours, all of which are rooted in local tradition. The back side of the row of buildings has the same vertical division as the front of the row. The number of colours used has also been reduced from nine to five.
